No tropical paradise island getaway is complete without a few days lazing your cares away on the beach. Take in the sounds of the ocean, sip on a cocktail or fresh coconut, swim and snorkel around the shallow coral reefs, and dry off under the cool sea breeze provided by gently swaying palm trees.
There are so many beaches on Koh Tao to choose from, and we hope you’ll have time to explore them all during your stay. You’ll find rental services at all of the beaches in populated areas if you don’t have your own mask and snorkel. Some beaches even offer kayak and paddleboard rental.

The most popular beaches on Koh Tao are easy to get to and have a selection of on-site services and facilities for food, drinks, and sunbeds, etc.
The best beaches on Koh Tao for snorkeling have wide sweeping bays, shallow coral reefs, and easy access from the shoreline. Many also have specific attractions like a small wreck to explore (Mae Haad) or opportunities to spot turtles and blacktip reef sharks (Shark Bay).
Want to get away from it all and get a patch of golden sand all to yourself? At some of these remote beaches on Koh Tao, that’s definitely possible! Not all are accessible by road, so some require a longtail taxi or hike to reach. But we think you’ll find the effort worth it.
